China strongly protests US arms sales to Taiwan

China on Friday strongly protested a U.S. plan to sell $1.4 billion worth of arms to Taiwan and demanded that the deal be canceled.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Lu Kang said the sale would severely damage China’s sovereignty and security interests and run counter to Washington’s commitment to a “one-China” policy.“We stress that nobody could sway our determination to uphold our territorial integrity and sovereignty,” Mr. Lu said at a regular daily briefing. “We oppose any external interference in our internal affairs.”

The U.S. State Department approved the arms sale on Thursday, the first such deal with Taiwan since President Donald Trump took office.

The sale was broadly welcomed on Taiwan as a show of U.S. support, despite concerns about the strain on finances and Beijing’s angry response. Taiwan’s defense department said the sale would enhance the island’s self-defense capability.

China considers Taiwan to be part of its territory and has long opposed any arms sales to the self-governing island by foreign entities. It insists on eventual reunification, through force if necessary.

Match Ended ( Day - 3rd ODI )
India beat West Indies by 93 runs

MS Dhoni was the man of the match and it was a testimony to the role he played in saving India a few blushes. It was a day when Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan could not fire and Yuvraj Singh was as ineffective as ever. Ajinkya Rahane anchored the innings alongwith MS Dhoni. Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav then built a late surge and helped India cross 250. West Indies then never got going in their chase and were bundled out before the end of the 38th over.
India vs West Indies 3rd ODI Highlights: Kedar Jadhav picks his first wicket of the day and that does the job. Once again, West Indies have been outplayed by India despite the West Indies getting off to a rocky start to the match. India now have a 2-0 lead and that means that West Indies can only draw the series from here. Their chances of securing automatic qualification for the 2019 World Cup is looking bleaker with each passing match.

Monthly users of FACEBOOK crosses 2Billions

Facebook has hit a new milestone, with more than 2 billion monthly active users now on the social network less than five years after hitting the one billion mark, the company has said.
“It’s an honour to be on this journey with you,” said Mark Zuckerberg, co- founder and chief executive said in a Facebook post.
The user base is bigger than the population of any single country, and of six of the seven continents. It represents more than a quarter of the world’s 7.5 billion people.
Facebook defines a monthly active user as a registered user who logged in and visited the social media platform through its website or a mobile device in the past 30 days.
It does not include people who use the Instagram or WhatsApp networks but not Facebook.
Facebook had 1.94 billion people using its service monthly as of March 31, an increase of 17 per cent from a year earlier. It reached 1 billion in October 2012.
The company, which Zuckerberg started in 2004 in his college dormitory room, uses its huge size advantage to lure advertisers, offering them highly targeted marketing capabilities based on its data about users.
The number of advertisers topped five million in April, the company said.

Without Battery We Can Call From This Mobile Phone

A group of researchers from the University of Washington (United States) has created a mobile phone that does not battery to make calls. Why,Because it has the ability to obtain energy from the air itself.
The new prototype is the result of a year of work by this team. Its motive was to get a mobile to be able to call without a battery, an end for which they had to face two major challenges:
1.Obtain the necessary energy from the environment
2.Reduce the electrical consumption of a call which usually is of about 800 milliwatts.
First, the researchers focused on resolving the issue of communication. For this, the prototype is based on a technique known as backscatter, a physical phenomenon that consists of the reflection of waves, particles or signals in the direction to where they come from.
